Dear St. John’s Friends and Family,
What do you think God is like? If you were to describe God, what would you say? Over the summer we will explore our thoughts about our thoughts about God and what we find in the Bible. God reveals God self to us in little ways all the time. We find God’s revelation in scripture. God reveals God’s self in the words of a friend or the setting and rising of the sun. Or when we watch a butterfly come out of it’s chrysalis.
We will begin with the story of Mary and Martha. Jesus has arrived at their house. What would you do if Jesus arrived at your house and what do we learn about God in this story?
As we prepare ourselves for worship, we prepare ourselves to be available to God’s presence. How have you prepared? Have you set an altar? Have invited God to speak to you? Do you have your Bible near? Are you expecting anything from God as you worship? Prepare! God has come near! God is here!
