Fall Session of Financial Peace Begins September 10th

Hi folks, David & Christie McKnight here. Has it ever felt like there’s too much month left at the end of the money? Feel like you’re living paycheck to paycheck and can’t get ahead?

We used to feel that way too, and please know that you are not alone. 70% of Americans live check to check. Look down the row of chairs in church Sunday…that’s seven people in your row.

We are leading our 10th session of Financial Peace University starting in September. FPU is the class we should have all been required to take in high school; in nine weeks, you will learn why and how to save for emergencies, how to finally pay off debt, to create a working spending plan for your money, and how to invest for the future.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a FLEX class meaning you will watch one hour of video AT HOME, ONLINE each week prior to class. Classroom time each Sunday will be kept to one hour. Free childcare is available; the church is located across the highway from College of the Mainland next to Elmcroft Assisted Living.

How often do you get the opportunity to take a class that changes your life?

Check out this video preview of the class:

Now, I’m not making empty promises. It’s up to you to do the hard work. But FPU shows you, step by step, what to do, how to do it, and why. How to handle money God’s and Grandma’s ways. If you do what the class teaches, you will have more control over your money than ever before.

Nearly 100 people have gone through the class with us at St. John’s. All told, over 5,000,000 people have gone through the class and the average family pays off about $5000 in debt and saves about $3000 in the first 90 days. That $8000 turnaround could be you in a few months! Yes, you will pay a little bit for the class, but it’s a lifetime membership. You can go through it as many times as you want.

Here are quotes from two of our previous students at St. John’s:

You will get so much out of this class if you really apply yourself. At week 9 I have paid off almost $3000 in debt & gotten my $1000 Emergency Fund…I feel more confident about my future. Take advantage of this class & all of the materials!

If you are married and money has caused problems between you and your partner, pay attention. This will truly help you gain peace in your life. Enjoy the ride!

Free child care is provided. For more information on the class that starts September 10th and to sign up – click here.

P.S. Are you interested, but not sure if the class is for you? Call us at (713) 594-0884 and we’ll get you in the first night for free, no obligation.

Talent and Wannabe’s Show Last Night

by Admin

Last night’s Talent Show was a great success! Thank you to those who shared their amazing gifts with us, and to those who volunteered behind the scenes to provide and serve the root beer floats and cookies.

We had over 100 in attendance with 75 ice cream floats served.  The performers ranged in age from elementary school to Youth to senior citizens.  Lots of TALENT and lots of FUN!!  Just what we wanted!!
Thank you to all that made this happen.  We even finished at 7:30.  With 16 performances, that is amazing.  I heard much talk about “next time.” It is good to know that everyone enjoyed it enough to want to do it again.   FUN, FUN, FUN!!
Next event–Pancake Supper–6:00 PM on Tuesday, February 9–Youth fund raiser for Camp and UM Army.
Keep smiling,
Gary Potter

Financial Peace University Begins January 10th

Merry Christmas! All the gifts have been opened and the pretty paper thrown away (or saved, if you grew up in the house I did…)

The credit card bills won’t come in for a few weeks but somewhere in the checkout lines, did reality hit you upside the head and say, “I’ve spent too much this year”?

Are you tired of living paycheck to paycheck? Are you ready to get control of your money in 2016? Or maybe, a friend or relative can benefit from this class.

St. John’s is offering another session of Financial Peace University, and it starts January 10. This 9 week class teaches you how to pay off debt, save for the future, and get on a written game plan that will change the way you handle money. Over 4,000,000 people have gone through the class, and the average family pays off about $5000 in debt and saves about $3000 in the first 90 days. That $8000 turnaround could be you in a few months!

P.S. There is no class on Superbowl Sunday!

Financial Peace Class Begins January 10th

by Admin

Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University begins January 10th at 5:00 pm in the St. John’s sanctuary.

Who is the class for? Anyone who wants to do better with money. Whether you’re struggling to make ends meet, find yourself overwhelmed with debt, or want to know smart ways to save for retirement and kid’s college; married or single, this class is for you.

We’ve seen the change it can make in people’s lives; many of them worship with us every Sunday, and we are excited to offer the class for the seventh time at St. John’s.

Even if you think “No, that class isn’t for me”, you probably know someone who can benefit. Tell them about this class. If you are still unsure, come to the first night absolutely free.

Click here for more details and to sign up.

If you have questions about any aspect of the class call or text David or Christie McKnight at 713-594-0884 (David) or 713-376-8044 (Christie).
