Dear St. St John’s friends and family,
What do you know of God? How would you describe God? Do you know of God’s love and grace? Of God’s mercy and justice? How does this influence your relationship with God and the people around you? How about how you feel about yourself as a child of God or a humble sinner?
Our understanding of God can influence every detail of our life. The more we truly know God and the more we allow God to work in our life, the more we will become like God. We will become more loving, merciful, and forgiving. It is only then that we can become the hands and feet of Christ and Christ’s ambassador in the world. The church exists for this very reason. We are a living invitation into the family of God.
As we enter into worship, we open ourselves to God’s work within our hearts and minds. We bow down and submit to God’s authority and work in our life. And we rise up in praise and thanksgiving that we are forgiven and forever changed by God’s redeeming grace. Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord this day and every day!
