Greetings St John’s Friends and Family,
Today we start at new sermon series that will be based on a variety of stories. Some of theses stories will be familiar and some not so familiar. Each week we will have a children’s story paired with a Biblical narrative. This week, we’ll hear about two kings that don’t seem to have much in common at first glance.
Each one of us have been learning through hearing and reading stories since our childhood. Through stories, we learn about values and virtues. We also learn that there are consequences when people make bad choices. This week, we learn about the consequences when there is a lack of self discipline and control that leads a person to grasp for too much of a good thing.
I hope you had a chance to watch David McKnight read The Golden Touch earlier in the week. If not, you can find it here: https://youtu.be/oCPC_R8jSPE
Now, let’s turn our hearts to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!
Peace,
Pastor Stephanie
