Dear St. John’s friends and family,
We often forget that God is always close by, always present with us. We get caught up in disappointments, challenges, frustrations and hurt that we forget that God is near. We lose focus on what God is doing and focus on all that goes wrong. Yet, even in the worst parts of our life, God is with us.
It reminds me of the story of Peter stepping out of the boat in the midst of the storm. As long as he focused on Jesus he was able to walk on water. As soon as he focused on the storm it overwhelmed him and he began to sink. This is often the perfect picture of our life. Somehow we have got to remember to stay focused on the with of the Holy Spirit in our life.
As we prepare to meet God in worship, may God’s nearness and goodness be revealed in a powerful way. Let’s join together in praising God for God is good all of the time!
