Dear St. John’s Friends and Family,
Today we continue to discover how our faith is like that of a growing tree. Just as we are rooted in God’s love, we should also be growing together in Christ. Rev. Cindy Riddick is preaching today about the importance of our spiritual growth, also known as our discipleship. Disciples follow the teachings of Jesus. In order to follow the teachings of Jesus, we must learn and grow in our faith. We are on a faith journey. And many of us are in different places along the path. Some have just started the journey, while others have been on the journey most of their lives. No matter where we are on our journey, we need to keep moving, keep growing, while helping and encouraging each other along the way.
Your spiritual journey is unique to you, yet your journey also shares some common threads with every believer. We are all growing together in Christ Jesus. At St. John’s, we take this seriously. And we want to be able to encourage and help everyone take their next step in faith. This is why St. John’s has entered into a process to create a discipleship pathway. We need your help for the next part of the process. We would like to glean where St. John’s friends and family are in their spiritual walk as a whole. This means everything is confidential. The information that we receive will not be about individuals. We will only receive data about the group. The survey will ask questions about what is important to you right now in your faith walk and what are the things that help you grow. This survey is to help St. John’s create a discipleship pathway, so it is only for those connected with St. John’s in some way. You should take the survey if you come to worship in person, listen to us over the radio or online. You should take the survey if you are in a small group connected with St. John’s, whether in person or over Zoom. You should take the survey if you follow St. John’s devotionals, whether live stream or written. If St. John’s has encouraged you in some way in your spiritual growth, then please take the survey! The survey is for each individual in your household that fits one or more of the criteria, including children and youth that are already growing in their faith. Once one person takes the survey, the survey will ask for the next person in your household. Please let everyone in your household have an opportunity to take the survey before or after worship. The survey will take about 20-25 minutes. Thank you for helping St. John’s create a discipleship pathway that will encourage people to take the next step in their faith walk as we grow in Christ together!
We turn our hearts to Christ, our Lord and Savior! The King of Kings and the Lord of Lord’s. The One that taught us the beauty of servanthood and sacrifice through his own words and actions. Let us open our hearts to the Way, the Truth and the Life!
