Thanks to Edna Day for sharing this devotion with our St. John’s family. We hope to share a devotion written by someone in our congregation each Friday.
God’s Love Is What Keeps Me Going
And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
2 Corinthians 5:15 (Authorized King James Version)
God’s love is the greatest motivator for me. It causes those who follow Him to live for Him, not for themselves. Through the things we love to do for others, we honor Him. We honor God through our ministry, our music, our studies, our prayer, and our work in whatever life’s knowledge we’ve gained through education. We honor God in all the things that help others. When we love others through our actions, God’s hands are there also. It means something when we are motivated to make a difference.
Gracious God,
We thank you and love you because you first loved us. Fill us with your love and keep us faithful to do good works with our hands and hearts always. Amen.
