Thanks to Terry Fry for sharing this devotion with our St. John’s family. We hope to share a devotion written by someone in our congregation each Friday.
WHAT KEEPS ME GOING
Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
What keeps me going?
- At the present day and time, it is my beautiful daughter and a spoiled rotten puppy dog.
- Having them with me on a daily basis and not being alone in this terrible pandemic.
- I love being able to cook good nutritious meals for Alice and me and take Gizzie for walks.
- Talking to neighbors from a safe distance and checking up on one another.
Another couple but very important things are that I will be able to spend time with the rest of my family.
What keeps me going?
- Being able to be back with my church family and spend time with them worshiping our God and Savior.
- Being able to spend precious time with my nursery babies and show them God’s love through me.
- Helping anyone with special needs by cooking a meal, for example.
What keeps me going?
- Going back to volunteering at the hospital.
- Helping families find loved ones that are at the hospital by giving room numbers and even escorting them to a department that they may need for a test.
I thank God for giving me the ability to help someone through a difficult time even if it is only a smile and “Hello. How are you?”
I’m going to close with one of my favorite scriptures.
Isaiah 40:31
But those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength,
they shall mount up with wings like eagles,
they shall run and not be weary.
they shall walk and not faint.
This is my prayer for each and every one of you.
May God be with you,
Terry Fry
