Rooted, Growing, and Branching Out in God's Love

The Christian life is a journey of steps toward becoming a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. No matter where you find yourself on the path of discipleship, we would love to journey with you as you take your next step. You can find out more about the spiritual journey by exploring our Discipleship Pathway page HERE.

As a faith community, we invite you join us as we learn and grow together. We encourage everyone to participate in the life of the church in the following ways:

Worship

Join this faith community each week for worship. After a year of not worshiping in our sanctuary, we  are again worshiping in our sanctuary. We offer two worship services each Sunday at 9:30 and 11:00 AM. A nursery will be offered at both worship times. For those who are not able to join us in person, we offer online worship on our church YouTube channel. For more information about our worship service, click here.

Bible Study

Our weekly worship offers powerful encounters with God’s Word, but real growth happens in small group study. We encourage every adult to be part of a small study group. For more information about our study groups, click here.

Prayer

One of the most powerful ways that we can connect with God is through prayer. We encourage everyone to spend time with God in prayer daily. We also know that in difficult times, one of the ways we can care for each other is to pray for one another. We have a team of faithful people who are committed to praying for the prayer needs of this congregation and our community. If you would like to request prayer, please contact the church office at 409-655-5348 or email Rev. Cindy Riddick at criddick@stjohnsumctc.org.

Fellowship

As a church, we love to gather together for fellowship. Our fellowship opportunities give us a chance to share life together. As we return to in-person gatherings, we have a couple of opportunities to connect with others. Click HERE to view our fellowship groups.

Serving

We are called to learn and grow in our faith through study and worship. We are also called to use our gifts to serve others. We have many ways to love others through serving those in our faith community and serving those in need beyond the church walls. For information about serving opportunities in the church, click here.
