Dear St. John’s Friends and Family,
Prayer is essential to who we are as God’s people. And we’ve committed to pray everyday this prayer:
Lord God, help me to be rooted in love, growing in Christ, and branching out in service. Amen.
This is a personal prayer and a communal prayer. We are asking God to lead us as individuals to grow and serve in our church home and our community. All that we have is God’s. We are blessed so that we can be a blessing. In order to be a blessing, we share our time, talent and treasure. We become an expression of God’s generosity. And when we do this together, we are the body of Christ.
As we come together to worship, may God move us to a spirit of generosity. And as the Spirit rises in our hearts, may joy abound in every good work!
